Since the Backstreet Boy openly came true for being addicted to alcohol (and let him admit himself in a rehabilisation centre), the wildest stories about AJ are going 'round... Something that doens't benifits AJ's cure, 'cause the rumors hurt him... A friend in need is a friend indeed! And this proverb seems to be very true in AJ's case. Since the 'More Than That'-singer lives in a rehabilisation centre, people from close by make shokking testimonies! Testimonies that are extremely exaggerated and wrenched from its context! It's clear that AJ, after his discharge from the hospital, will struck some 'friends' of his friendships list... Wild nights... Someone who blotches AJ, is his x-girlfriend Karen Simpson (aka Casey Raye). She had an underhand realtionship with AJ and revealed in an American magazine their innermost secrets... Karen Simpson: I met AJ at the end of January during a poolparty. He took me that same night to the Sunrise Hilton. Save sex was out of the question! And AJ had more dangerous habits: he sniffs cocaine and drank Jack Daniel's scotch! I was very dissapointed in him! His body was untidy and his belly was slush 'cause he didn't trained for a while... And as if these confessions weren't nefast enough for AJ's selfconfidence (just on a moment he needs selfconfidence to lead his life in good directions...), Karen tells more shocking stories! Karen Simpson: For five days I satyed in AJ's company en we saw eachother afterwards. In New York and Toronto we experienced wild nights and later he invided me over in his house in Orlando. A beautiful villa on the outside but a mess on the inside! AJ's yorkshire terriers, Jack D and Vegas, do their needs inside his house! All the time I was together with AJ he'd never buy me a decent meal! If we went somewhere to eat, I even paid the bill because he didn't have any money with him! Cocktailparty... But x-girlfriend Karen isn't the only one who has such shocking rumors. Also a bodyguard - who'd rather stay anonymous - went to confession... Bodyguard: Just before AJ went to a rehabilisation centre he threw a party. Without keeping the other Backstreet Boys posted, he went to see the movie 'The Fast And Thje Furious'. When he got back to the Ritz-Carlton Hotel he went to the bar and drank one cocktail after an other. Aj disappeared with three strangers to his room where things went wrong! There was a fight and when the other Backstreet Boys wanted to caal him to order, he even attacted them!! With a pinch of salt... Pure nonsens! That's what the other guys says about this incident. 'It's a shame how people try to get AJ down, when he's supposed to get encouraging words coming his way... But our support he gets, that's for sure! We hope he gets better soon and that the fans continue to believe in him. And that they can set those lies apart from the truth, because those stories are extremely exaggerated! Backstreet Boys Brian & Kevin on loyalty and.. going off on the sly Last year the American nephews got married! Kevin & Kirsten Willits married on June 17, 2000. Brian & Leighanne Wallace married on September 2, 2000. In front of the altar they swore fidelity to their wifes and.. both boys are planning to keep the vowel! Brian: Before I married Leighanne I thought long and deep... The marriage is something sacret to me! I'm always of opinion that if you take that big step, you have to be sure about the love for your partner. Eventualy, by marrying, you accept to choose for 1 person for the rest of your life and that other girls become taboo! Kevin: I don't have a problem with the fact that Kirsten is the only girl I'll hold in my arms for the rest of my days! But... I also realise that our love's in the prime of her life! I never want to deceive Kirsten but you've got to stay realistic: at the time our marriage is very youth and we enjoy plenty of eachother! Even if it's not the intention, I believe that in 10 or 20 years there's gonna be routine in our relationship. And that one of us all of the suddon becomes to feel more for someone else... What would you do if that happened? Brian: You'd better ask: What are you going to do to never let it happen? I really intent to give Leighanne my full attention and affection so she never feels the need to feel something for someone else! I know I'm not the perfect husband - no one's perfect! - but I do try to make Leighanne happy with all my heart and soul. Kevin: Someone who cheats on his/her partner feels there's something missing in that relationship Otherwise you never cheat in the first place! So as long as you're open against eachother and you deal with the problems, that might come along, together, there's nothing to fear. The band between them only gets stronger and the tention for loving someone else fades. Have you ever been in the temptation? Brian: Never! I swear! Kevin: We have got thousands of indecent proposals already but sorry: boing intimate with somebody had a very personal meaning to me. I'd never go through a one-night stand! There are lots of sweet and beautiful girls among our fans and I often want to get to know them better but pure friendly! Brian: None of the Backstreet Boys has ever took advantage of our succes with the girls. Artist who did don't care at least a bit for their fans! We want to look ourself and our girlfriends or wifes straight in the eye! Are you afraid that Kirsten or Leighanne ever will go off on the sly? Kevin: If you love somebody you're always afraid that will happen... But I don't think Brian or I have to fear anything. It may sound naief but I believe that our wifes really love us... Brian: Even if it's not easy to be married to us! There are moments that we're so busy with Backstreet Boys that we put our marriage on ice for a while. But... as soon as we get home, we light the fire and we spoil our wifes! Kevin: We also take Kirsten and Leighanne as much as possible along on our tour. But that doesn't always work! They also lead their own lifes and they are risking their chances in Hollywood at the time! Kirsten co-operates with the movie 'Rock Star' with Mark Wahlberg and Jennifer Anniston. And Leighanne has got the leading part in 'Olive Juice', a movie about a girl that descovers secrets about her fiance and falls in love with somebody else... Brian: It doens't bother me that Leighanne plays with all kinds of hansom actors, because I trust her! Kevin: Trust is a keyword! When I kept Kirsten in the dark for the press, it wasn't easy for her to see how those girls tried to seduce me! But she believed in my love for her and I believe in her feelings for me! I don't have to bother myself to the fact that Kirsten gets more attention from the boys now she's also in the spotlights. Of course I often get a stitch of jealousy but that's a good sign! As long as I want to fight for Kirsten, it means that I still love her... Backstreet Boy Nick Carter pines away in a love and food depression Alarming notice from Florida: Nick Carter isn't doing well! Since the break up with x-grilfriend Mandy (aka Willa Ford) Nick felt into a spiral of love & food depressions and... the end of his problems isn't here yet! Because the 21 year-old singer's got trouble to deal with Mandy's relation with Craig... Nick: I got particulary a problem with the way she spins Craig around her vinger! According to me she doesn't love him at all, she just wants to use him to become widely known, also outside America! And she seems to succeed it too, 'cause of course all the Europeans want to know who the girl is that Craig David's with. You know, lots of poeple think I'm jealous with Craig but that's not true. I just pity him for, like me, falling into Mandy's trap and that he doesn't realise she's gonna dump him after he's not longer wanted. Something that Mandy, according to Nick, also did to him! Nick: I did everything to push Mandy's singing career the right direction! I even helped her when she did the opening act for the Backstreet Boys, I even got her in touch with important persons. And Mandy was oh so grateful to me! 'Till my sources were out en she pushed me to the side... I couldn't help her anymore, so she didn't want me anymore! And for that I hate her!!! Those sour feelings contributed to the despressions Nick's pining away in.. Nick: Whenever I feel bad, I just concentrate on my work. But the Backstreet Boys recently took a time off so I'm out of job. And I find that horrible, 'cause now I can't work off on stage or in the studio. So... I rush into food. At home I plunder the cupboard for food and I eat lots of junkfood! That's very clear, 'cause I gained a few pounds... If I look in the mirror, I always say to myself that I gotta stop doing this! During a half day I control myself again, untill I start to worry about Mandy and how she treated me or I worry about the Backstreet future... Before I realise I'm eating junkfood again! I'm afraid I can't get out of this alone, that I've gotta get help... And I will, 'cause I don't want to ruin my career by the way I feel about someone as Mandy! I don't want to give her that pleasure! Backstreet Boys deny all rumors of the groups splitting up 'After 8 year on the top the matter has been settled for the Backstreet Boys. After their 'Black&Blue Tour' they're gonna release a Greatest-Hits album and then it's definitely over for the group.' This was the report from the English press but it's not at all the version of Backstreet Boys. Nick Carter, AJ McLean, Kevin Richardson, Howie Dorough and Brian Littrell are denying all the rumors. But they do admit giving priority to their private lives and solo careers. A Step Aside... Kevin: What's more is that each of us cherishes solo plans. AJ would like to break-through as Johnny No Name, Brian's also recording his own songs and Howie's working on songs with his sister Polyanna. Nick and I are mostly behind the scenes with the management of new artists. But Nick also wants to take his chances on the big screen in Hollywood! Howie: Backstreet Boys aren't gonna split up, but fair is fair: we haven't made plans for 2002 for the group! We're in a kind of turningpoint in our lives, especially as a group. Tenses... Nick, Howie, Kevin & co. will soon have to discuss the Backstreet future. Like they say themselves: "We're not splitting up yet but... we haven't made plans for 2002 either!" Money isn't a subject anymore with BSB, 'cause the capital of each Backstreet Boy values at about 4.5 billion (Belgian francs). Brian: But still every BSB
searches their way into solo careers, just because music's our life!
Solo careers have also a better schedule, so we have more time for our
private lives. Going down... An other source of stress within the group is Nick's mental condition. What's going to happen to his private life is still not clear. Some time ago things went wrong with his x-girlfriend Mandy (aka Willa Ford) and Nick landed in a depression after he found out that Mandy found the love of her life in the arms of Craig David. But... all rumors of Nick lying to the base of a Backstreet Boys-split up, the boys settle as rumors and nonsens! 'We all just have the feeling that a Backstreet Boys chapter is closed en we have to start a new one! For the time being we each go our own way in music but the group is still miles away from a split up!! We have such an intimate vriendship between us that we can't live apart from eachother. Suppose there's gonna be a split up someday, then it won't take long before we organise a reunion-concert! The fans haven't got any reason to be concerned: the group isn't through yet! The Boys still have lots of plans, either as a group, either as solo-artists. Backstreet Boy AJ McLean accused of assault Disturbing news seeps from England! Stella Galvan (17), a Backstreet Boys-Fan from the first moment (!), asserts that last year she was sedduced by the 23 year-old AJ in his hotelroom. The group's rebel, AJ, is shocked by Stella's story and claims that he never cheatd his girlfriend! We let both sides talk... Last year Stella finally got to go to the long-expected Backstreet Boys-concertin London, Stella was 16 en totally crazy about AJ, her teen-idol! After the concert she went to the Langham Hilton Hotel: she heard that the guys stayed there that night! There were about 20 other fans waiting for their Backstreet Boys-idols in the lobby, but Stella went to the bar and drank a cocktail, in order to look older (she admits herself). The other fans gave up the long waiting and went home around midnight. Stella kept waiting and around one she saw AJ coming to the bar... Stella Galvan: He looked great in his white jeans and jacket! Stella plucked up some courage and introduced herself to AJ! And yes, she was invited by the big teen idol to his suite! Stella Galvan: There were dirty clothes all over the place. I even took some as a souvenir, when he didn't look... But from that moment things went down for the teenager. Stella Galvan: He was obviously drunk! He kissed me and asked straight up if I wanted to sleep with him. I was afraid but I didn't really wanted to turn down AJ. You are not in front of your teen idol every day eh! Stella was all upset when she got a ring from her mum a bit later. Stella Galvan: My mum phoned me on my cell-phone to ask where the hell I was en only then AJ asked - very worried - how old I was... When I told him I was 19 he was apparently satisfied and felt asleep. I took a cab home and I never heard anything from him afterwards... AJ's story... AJ: I don't know where this girl got those horrible nonsens! I can't really remember the night she's talking about - it's been a year already - but it's possible I drank something with her in the bar. I mean: what's wrong with that? But to invite a fan over in my private room? No, I would never do that, the BSB-management disapproves it anyway! AJ deplores the 'fantasy-story' en suspects that the girl maked the whole thing up just to get AJ's attention. Proving the opposite is not an easy thing to do. AJ: Hasn't anybody asked her why she hardly a year later comes up with all those stories? That's not right, is it? And yes, I do love to drink a night-cap, but if I drank 'till I was really drunk - after a show - I couldn't keep up with the Backstreet thing. Besides I never cheated my girlfriend! I hope that Stella realises what damage she does! Not only my reputation is lost, also hers! No panic! Anastacia Newkirk (09/17/1972) hasn't trade her loverboy John for Backstreet Boy AJ! The two American artists are planning to unite their forces to settle a sensational LOVE-duet... Anastacia: When Sir Elton John last envited me to sing a duet with him on his new album, friends of mine asked: 'Aren't you excited?' In all honesty: of course I felt very fladdered but I didn't find it very sensational... AJ's invitation's left a far more impression on me! When I heard the news I was in Europe! I immediatly called my boyfriend John, who's active as an actor in California, to tell him! I think the Backstreet Boy are a very good group! Maybe it's because he's also often wearing glasses but AJ's my fave Backstreet Boys! AJ: I never hid my admiration of Anastacia. I've been a fan of her ever since she joined 'Star Search'. Not many people realise what talent she's got. The hits 'I'm Outta Love' & 'Not That Kind' are only the top of the iceberg! On her album there's a song that's called ' Who's Gonna Stop Tha Rain?'. Well, that song gives me goose-flesh. It's been my dream since months to do something with Anastacia! Anastacia: That dream is likewise and hopefully it comes true soon! I'm more than willing to huddle up ASAP in the studio! Our only problem is.. time. Both AJ and I have a busy schedule. Finding some free time in our schedule is an extremely difficult job... But: where's a will there's way! AJ: At the moment I'm looking forward to a strong song. Maybe Anastacia can write one. A ballad seems to be the best choice for both of us. Anastacia fiance has nothing to fear: a relation between us is problably never going to happen! After the painful break with Amanda of girlband Innosense I've made my mind up: never begin something with somebody else from the showbizz... Backstreet Boy AJ's afraid: 'I almost never go on the streets alone at night!' The life of a voluntary Backstreet Boys isn't always plain sailing... For instance AJ. He's always on his best for stalkers, bom-attacks and... sick freaks! Did you already wrote songs you wanna do as Johnny No Name? AJ: Yes, I've already wrote three of them. One's called 'In Dreams' and an other's called 'Private Homicide' and for that other one I haven't found a title yet. That's a bit a hardcore-song à la Magedeth! Private Homicide? Doesn't sound very happy... AJ: No, I wrote it during the Johnny No Name-tour. I felt very anxious all of the sudden because I realides that in this job you really haven't got anymore privacy... You're 24 hours a day in the spotlights and there's always someone that recognises you. I love attention but I've got times I can't stand the attention! For example when I'm trying to have a meal with my family. And I don't want people to think I'm an acorn 'cause I don't wanna give out signatures at those times... Do you love rumors? AJ: Yes, I do love rumors. You just have to lay back and let it all go over you... You know it's all bullshit, so... Like you see pictures in the paper of Michael Jackson look-a-likes when you know it's not him, you know? There was once a story about Kevin, he got a billioncontract to do a movie with Tom Cruise. Now he still waits for the cheque! It's very flat entertainment for people who don't want to read good magazines. For me it never has to be that way. Do you ever have stalker-problems? AJ: There's been some bom-attacks during our show in Europe. But we never actually got personal threats. Except that Brian's dogs were stolen... But that's not really something life-threatning. You can always buy a new dog. Haha. How cruel... AJ: I know I'm supposed to be upset if that would happen to me, but hey, it were Brian's dogs. No seriously, I know that Britney had some problems with stalkers coming to her shows... Of course we're on our best! So be careful in chosing your friends, in whatever you do or say! Stalkers of Backstreet Boys can be - for example - enormous Nsync-fans, who think that the Backstreet Boys should die! They can threathen us with bom-attacks before a show and say: 'We're gonna blow those boys up!'. Did such thing ever happen? AJ: Yes, in East-Berlin. A stage-crew was called from a phonecell and they said there was a bom under the stage that would explode during the finale, when we're supposed to bring 'Get Down'. We just did the show untill that moment! Then weleft the stage and they searched under the stage. There was found a package that lookad like a bom, but there was no damage. Does that kind of things scare you? AJ: Yes. We can only hope such a thing will never happen! Just watch x-Beatle Goerge Harrison, who was attacted in his own house! you don't really feel save anymore and that'sq why we get so much protection... But there are - besides me - lots of other sick freaks out there! How did you protect your house? AJ: Outside the house everything's protected with lasers. Even if you come too close the alarm goes off and the police will be called automatically! Do you also have bullet-free glass? AJ: No, but there aren't many windows in my house. The area I live is by theway very save and not at all dangerous or anything. Almost no one knows where I live. It's very difficult to find me! And besides, I almost neder go alone on the streets at night! How did you feel when you heard a fan would catch a bullet for you guys? AJ: That was very crazy. It was probably one of the best quesiotn that's been ever asked en probably cool 'cause it came from a fan! I didn't had an answer. I don't really know what I would do, I would probably go mad... You don't want to see a fan suffer for you? AJ: No please! Everyone can love us and think we're cool but no one has to suffer for us!If something like that would ever happen the security-crew would make sure we got out of there very fast! So we wouldn't even get to see the fan who suffered for us or take take of her... That would be shit! If it would happen to me whenever I'm alone somewhere then I'd stay by her side untill she's okay! Our fans mean everything to us! Last question: would you ever wear bont? AJ: I don't think it's cool to wear bont! If you think about it it's just like animals are human! It's foolish to kill animals to make clothes! There is such a thing as fake bont, you know! Did you know htey make fake bont from the stuff that sits on the outside of a coco-nut? At least, that's what they told me. It brings along a little rough bont, but still. Better than real!! Backstreet Boys are planning coming to Belgium! Faxes, letters, telephones & mails! When are the Backstreet Boys coming to Belgium? Well, we asked it themselves! And Nick, Howie, AJ, Kevin & Brian had very good news! Nick: It won't take much longer before we come to Belgium! I can't say when exactly we're flying towards you but we're coming! That's a promise! Brian: We can only settle an exact date when we've got a better view on our schedule for the rest of this year! At the time we're still busy with the Black&Blue-tour through America and that's gonna take 'till the end of March, beginning of April... And? Not yet too excosted from your trip through the US? AJ: Thank God we're not! It's excosting to travel from here to there. We stop on short time in among other in Sacramento, Las Vegas, Phoenix, Los Angeles & San Diego but in the mean time we've learned that a day off between 2 shows does good to us ans is necessary! Brian: It gives us the time to catch breathe again! Or to adjust things that can do better on stage so that our life-concert sounds even better the next day! Kevin: But the most of us use the little time to catch up with their wife, girlfriend or family! I'm crazy about touring - I love life-concerts! But ever since I got married (with Kirsten Willits) I miss Kirsten now more than ever if she's not around... How do you try to deal with the homesickness? Brian: By paying enormous gsm-bills! Kevin: Or by concentrating on other things. The strange thing of being on a tour is that you only feel lonely at night, after the show! On stage we give it our all to the audience. The love and the attention we get from our fans makes sure each one of us gets goose-flech! Even after all these years of succes it keeps on touching us how much they care about us and how conditional lyal they are! But... from our sidethe same thing matters: we've got much respect for the fans! We also try to spoil them so they go home with such a happy feeling as we do! Really: whenever I've got personal contact with one of them during a show I cherish a warm feeling inside! It still feels good to know how much some care for us... How are the responses on Krystal, the singer who does your opening acts? Kevin: Thank God very positive! At the moment Krystal isn't famous in Europe but that won't take much longer. She's a 19 year-old fantastic singer from Virginia and the first girl that we signed in to the own label of the Backstreet Boys! Actually I'm the one who takes full pity on her! Because Krystal and I work close together. Her new single 'Supergirl' and her album 'Me and my piano' will surely cause her break-through! Reputedly, you also direct her video's? Kevin: True! Because I believe in her but also 'cause I cherish the ambition to work behind the scenes! Since Kirsten's acting in 'Rock Star' and Bryan & Leighanne colloborated to the movie 'Olive Juice' even I got to feel the Hollywood-itch! Directing the video's of Krystal is a good learningschool... Backstreet Boy Kevin for a good cause... Wife Kirsten for a baby Kevin... Wow! There were lots of people on the pressconference that Backstreet Boy Kevin Richardson recently organised! On the Blue Grass-airport in Lexington, Kentucky people were all over the place because Kevin and his wife Kirsten had big news! Were Kirsten & Kevin in the family way? Was the love over? Or did Kevin wanted to make more time for his marriage and so leave the Backstreet Boys? The speculations aren't to be triffled with... but they saved the situation by saying... Kevin: I want the whole world to know that I raised my own good cause-organistion: the Kevin Richardson Environmental Foundation! Thiq foundation will plead a cause against a better enivronment. For more healthier food and a more pleasent climate to live in. With the whole in the ozonelayer, the pollution of water and the massa's industry things are going out of hand these days. I want to set myself in together with Kirsten for 200% to stop the pollution! At home with Kevin & Kirsten the first steps are going to be taken soon! Kevin: Kirsten and I recycle everything highly finshed. We try not to buy tin or plastic anymore and little things in a big packing we lay aside. But of wourse we see it much bigger than this: I hope that all Backstreet Boys-fans will follow our example but I also hope to negotiate with big companies to deal with their pollution problems! I wanna use my reputation to save the environment. Just like Kirsten, who will use her reputation for a good cause! She will surely work more behind the scenes... Kirsten: My schedule is much less busy than Kevin's! At the moment I'm no longer a backing vogel to Cher and the only shot planned for me is already over. Shortly: I've got my hands free for our Environmental Foundation! But honour to whom honour is due: the orignial idea came from Kevin. He wanted to launch the organistion after we had an emotional talk at home about.. babies! Kevin: True! Of course Kirsten and I want to seal our marriage with kids but only on one condition: that our little ones turn up in a world with a healthy future! Just thinking of possible allergies or long deceases by the pollution, made made me sit on the fence. But now that I'm working on a better world I'm starting to long more and more to my own issue! When the family Richardson's gonna enlarge, isn't clear (yet)... Kevin: If it was for Kirsten, she would be pregant today! But you can't force sometihng like that. We let the nature do her job, that's part of our 'healthy plan'... But a bay is welcome, that's for sure! It would only make our family life more fascinating and make the band between Kirsten and I stronger and most certenly fortify me! The invaluable birthday gift from Backstreet Boys Nick to brother Aaron! Aaron Carter (12/07/1987) isn't gonna forget his last birthdayparty in a while! In the presence of his twinsister Angel and a couple of guys of boyband No Authority he was surprised in LA! But the biggest surprise did came form his dearly beloved brother Nick of Backstreet Boys, who invited the whole hall unexpected to sing 'Happy Birthday' to Aaron. Aaron was snowed under with presents but his most beautiful gift is and will always be the love of Nick! Aaron: At home everybody put together for a motorised Meyer Goped-scooter. That's what I've always dreamed of! My day is perfect already! Expecially 'cause Nick could be here today! Nick: I'd travel the world for my brother! I always pity the day I wasn't be there on his birthday. I wouldn't miss today's party not for the world! Being thirteen year old is a special age! Aaron's knocking on to the door of adults... Before he enters, I wanna tell him thing from man to man that will do sooner or later! Aaron: That's my brother allright! Nick is my gardian angel! I could wish for a better one! I know I'd better always listen to anything he says, 'cause Nick's always right! ... Or better: almost always right! Some time ago he changed fast... He wasn't the sweet and kind Nick he used to be and that hurt our mum very much... Everybody knows this was the cause of Mandy, Nick's x-girlfriend. She had a bad influence on him. She even wanted to pull us apart from eachother! Everybody could see that.. except Nick! Love can be blind, right? Nick: Unfortunetly it can, yes! And that's where I wanna protect you against today! I know, Aaron, that you're a prematurely kid. When I hearf - for the first time - that you were seeing Aman (Bynes) it scared the heel out of me! I had my first girlfriend on a much older age. But: after the claf-love it's time for the real thing. Aaron has had a couple of flirts but he's never been together with someone for too long. I suspect thing are going to change soon! Aaron doesn't have to be afraid of that 'cause it's a normal evolution. But: keeping your eyes and ears open is the message! Otherwise you might be as disappointed as I was in my x-grilfriend! Some girls just wanna date that guy because he's a famous popstar. Or: they wanna stand in the spotlight themselves! Girls can be very sneaky on that notica, so be careful. When someone had told me that Mandy would take off after the break with my big screen TV, I would've got mad and I would've defended her trough thick and thin! Still, the last thing did happen... That's the cause of losing my faith - for a while - in girls in general! Thank God I see that not everyone's like that. Aaron: I found it terrible that you, at the time you were dating her, didn't speak to our prarents for a long time... I missed you very often. Nick: I know that and I'm truly sorry. That's why I wanna press to your heart that you can never forget who made everything possible! Our parents are dears. The things they'd do to push Aaron's, Leslie's and my carreer into the right direction is unbelievable! Back then I let myself poke up by Mandy! Don't ever do that! I almost lost the love of the persons who I love the most on earth! Aaron: In February I'm starting a new tour through the US. I won't be able to sleep in my own bed for a month. In the beginning of Backstreet Boys my mum almost traveled everywhere with us! And Denise, AJ's mum, has also been there whenever I had something on my mind. I'm happy that you too doesn't have to go on adventure all forlone! My golden advice to you: fully enjoy everything that comes your way and the foreign contries you're gonna visit! But: never forget the house in Florida, where you'll always be home! So you can never fall in a black whole or feel lonely... Howie Dorough & sister Pollyanna declare an emotional family-duet! 10 Minutes can make a lifetime difference! Howie Dorough experienced this when he mist his airplane in 1998 and didn't arrive at time in the hospital to say a few words to his ill sister Caroline... Howie wanted to tell Caroline so much: how much he loved her, how much he was gonna miss her, ... But he never got the chance, she died before he arrived in the hospital... Howie: Caroline suffered from a practice disease that touched her joints and kidneys. We all knew that she wasn't going to live much longer... But just when we won our first MTV Award in America, things went awfully down with Caroline! They called me and told me to fly home immediatly, but within barely 10 minutes I misted my flight... When I arrived in North Caronlina with the next flight and crossed to the hospital, it was already too late... I never had the chance to say goodbye from Caroline... Also Howie's older (and musical) sister Polyanna didn't say goobye to Caroline... Polyanna: I sat next to her bed the whole time to try and cheer her up... Even though I knew it would end bad, I kept believing things woudl work out fine. When Caroline closed her eyes for the last time I still didn't confessed what was going on inside of me... That's why Howie and I wrote the song 'Fly To Heaven'. In the lines we say goobye from our little sis... 'Fly To Heaven' was recorded in New York and the single appeared as first production on Howie's own label HowieDolt Productions. But... the money that the song brings in will be turned to The Caroline Dorough-Cochran Lupus Fund, a good cause-organistation raised to do research towards the horrbiel decease that Caroline suffered from. Howie: The lost of Caroline made me realise that succes and money isn't worth anything if you can't share it with your family! In the beginning of the mourning-period I had it also very difficult with the busy schedule of Backstreet Boys. Just after Caroline's funeral I had to fly to South-America to give a performance on stage, 3 hours after we arrived! I did perform but emotionaly I had it very difficult... Caroline's death made me realise I actually wanted to spend more time with my family. And that's why I'm so happy I'm working with Pollyanna now! With his famous name Howie's hoping to introduce his sister to the showbizz! But... in former days the tables were turned... Pollyanna: I already sang before Howie even started to sing! I took him everywhere along with me: to the church-choir, to the auditions and repititions... Actually I'm the one who got him the music-itch! Only he was the one who came through faster than I did. But that's fine because he's heartily welcome to it! Howie: I still see myself as Pollyanna's little brother. When I first had to correct her in the studio I found it difficult to rap her knuckles. But in the mean time our colloberation is going fine! We also do our very best to collect money for The Caroline Dorough-Cochran Lupus Fund! I've even put soms personal stuff from the starting-period of the Backstreet Boys up for auction. And it felt good to get support form colleague's during the auction. Mariah Carey gave away the jeans and the baskets she worde during the video 'Heartbreaker'. Shania Twain gave away a raincoat and Shaquille O'Neal send me a couple of shoes! Pollyanna: But the most touching moment is and will always be when Howie and I sing 'Fly To Heaven' together. Then we feel extremely close with our sister and we realise very well that we still deeply miss her...
